Xiang Yang (Chinese, b.1967) was born and raised in China and moved to the United States in 1998. He has exhibited works at venues including Museum of Art and Design (NYC), Painted Bride Art Center (Philadelphia), Art Alliance (Philadelphia), and National Art Museum of China (Beijing). His large-scale work, Harmony Tower, was commissioned for Future Pavilion, EXPO 2010, Shanghai. In 2015, his art project Ultra Architecture – East Meets West was exhibited along Thames River, London.
Xiang Yang's work synthesizes the traditions of China: philosophy and religious thought, art and craft, with a new range of material, form, and critical thought encountered in contemporary Western art practice. And his work is in the permanent collection of many art institutions ie. National Art Museum of China, Today Art Museum.
